Documentary about Tibet and Chinese occupation

I've just came back from seeing this great documentary about Tibet called "What remains of us".

This is a must see movie if you have any interest about what is going on there, a bit of the history of Chinese occupation, how China treats the Tibetan people and how these people struggle and resists the Chinese government non-violently. The situation in a lot of ways reminds me of the Stalin days in the Soviet Union.

In the theater they don't allow any cameras and for good reason; they also search you at the door to make sure!

Here are some of the key points
-Chinese government invaded the once independent country and took control of the land and the resources. Now they are using their vast resources.

-The Dali Lamma is the leader of Tibet and is exiled and now lives in India.

-The Tibetan people are being abused and many of them have been tortured, imprisoned or killed.

-You cannot speak politics on the street or you will be reported by someone and then arrested ... same as in Stalin days.

-The Chinese government has destroyed almost all of the sacred/symbolic places to Tibetans in Tibet and has been pushing for Chinese settlements in the area. As the result, the Tibetans are losing there national identity very quickly!

-Most Tibetan people pretty much live in poverty.

-UN knows everything about this. They have stacks of, library size, papers in every language and are not doing anything about it! Why do you think that is?
